Now that Pomeroy Art Academy is officially underway, I would like to share more with you about the big picture of PAA and what you can expect to see from the academy as we grow. My goal for our academy is not only to teach artists how to animate, but how to be better, more well-rounded artists as a whole. Any seasoned artist will tell you that it is important to never stop learning and never stop practicing. As artists, we never get to a point where we have mastered absolutely everything. There is always room for us to get better and better at our craft and even to branch out to learn other forms of art and expression. My goal with PAA is to eventually move beyond simply teaching animation and to create a one-stop-shop for all your needs as a perpetual student of the arts.
As we grow, PAA will begin offering courses in other areas of art such as basic drawing fundamentals, advanced drawing lessons, figure drawing, storyboarding, painting, sculpting, and other subjects that will help you improve as an animator. In addition, we will be offering tutorials in niche art forms like puppet making and origami. We will even have tutorials on how to manage your own business as a freelance artist! You will also have the chance to learn from a variety of other professionals in the animation industry as I periodically have special guest instructors like Glen Keane, Mark Henn, Tom Bancroft, Tony Bancroft, Ron Husband, and Scott Sava, just to name a few! Our tutorial database will continue to expand to offer more learning opportunities for students at all skill levels.
Over the coming months, you will see more animation lessons being added to our video library. Each new installment of animation lessons will move you further in your development as an animator. This structure of continuous learning will eventually develop into a 3 tier curriculum that you will find only at Pomeroy Art Academy. Tier 1 will be a curriculum specially designed for beginning animators and entry level artists and will focus on the fundamentals of animation. Tier 2 will be for our more advanced level students as well as students at the high school and college skill levels. Finally, tier 3 will be lessons specially tailored for artists who are already at the professional level seeking to break into the animation industry as well as seasoned professionals who aim to hone their skills. We also plan to make all of this educational material available in multiple languages so students from all over the world can learn in the language that is most comfortable for them.
Big things are on the horizon for Pomeroy Art Academy and I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach you and help you grow as an artist! There will be more to come so be sure to stay up to date on all that is happening with Pomeroy Art Academy by following us on Instagram at @pomeroyartacademy and checking our blog!
